TIPS FOR Finding AN ABA THERPY provider

When searching for an ABA therapy provider in Ontario, it can be a lot to navigate the options and know which providers have the skills, training, and experience necessary to help your child succeed. As you compare ABA therapy providers, use this checklist to help you decide which autism service providers will best meet the needs of your child and family.

* Check to see what credentials an individual or service provider team has, and how long they have been providing support for autistic children. Clinical Supervisors or Behaviour Analysts providing Behaviour Services who are listed on the OAP Provider List go through a screening process and require a level of experience and credentials. * Choose professionals who have the necessary credentials, training, and extensive experience with autistic children.
* Behaviour Analysts in Ontario who also have and maintain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification often have extensive experience and training in behaviour analysis. Find out more and search here for BCBAs practicing in Ontario, Canada: BACB CONSUMER RESOURCES
* Carefully research the type of treatment or support being offered. Select an agency or individual that uses a research-based approach that has good evidence demonstrating it is effective for autistic children. Learn more about Science-Based Autism Treatments: ASAT Specific Treatments
