Some Signs that A Child May Be On The Autism Spectrum

If you have concerns about your child's development, and wonder if they may be on the autism spectrum, you may want to familiarize yourself with some of the very early indicators of autism.

* Lack of eye contact.

* Failing to smile socially by six months of age.
* No one-word phrases by 16 months. 

* No two-word phrases by 24 months.
* Lack of response when the child hears their name or familiar voices.

If you notice any of the early signs that your child may possibly have some developmental delay or autism, consult with your child's doctor and ask them to complete an assessment. You can also contact the autism diagnostic hub in your area to apply for an autism assessment: DIAGNOSTIC HUBS

Some children show some of the signs associated with autism without actually being on the spectrum, while other children show few signs and are later diagnosed with autism. If you think that your child may have autism, it's important to talk with your child's doctor about whether your child should be evaluated for autism.
