OUR SERVICES
ABA Therapy That Supports Real Life Skills
Sam I Am Autism Services provides individualized ABA therapy programs for autistic children and their families across Northumberland County, Durham Region, and Quinte West.
Through home-based, personalized sessions, we help children build communication, independence, and confidence in the environments where those skills are used every day.
What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps children develop meaningful skills across many areas of life.
Each program begins with an assessment of your child’s strengths, needs, and current abilities. From there, we create a personalized ABA support plan that includes proven strategies and techniques to support progress toward goals that matter to your child and your family.
ABA therapy can support:
Social awareness and interaction.
Play, leisure, and daily living skills.
Emotional regulation.
Replacing challenging behaviours with functional skills.
Communication and language development.
Building tolerance and flexibility.
At Sam I Am, our focus is always on practical, real-life skills that help your child participate more fully in their day-to-day life.
How It Works
ABA therapy is designed to fit into your child’s life.
Sessions take place primarily in your home, where your child is most comfortable and where skills can be practiced naturally. School-based support may also be available in some areas, depending on your child’s needs.
Your child will work with a Registered Behaviour Analyst, or a behavioural clinician under their supervision, to build skills step by step in a way that feels supportive and engaging.
Family involvement is a core part of the process. We work closely with you to identify goals, adjust strategies, and ensure progress carries over into everyday life and routines.
Parent Coaching
Supporting your child also means supporting you. Parent coaching is a natural part of ABA therapy at Sam I Am.
Throughout your child’s program, you will learn strategies and tools that help you reinforce progress outside of sessions.
This collaborative approach helps create consistency and leads to better, more lasting outcomes.
Identify goals that matter to your family.
Understand how and why strategies are used.
Build confidence in supporting your child’s development.
